practice, with extensive experience in complex commercial, corporate and civil matters.

Regional leader of BLG's Banking Litigation Group in Montréal. Practice includes bank-
ing litigation, bankruptcy and insolvency, as well as financial restructuring. Also has exten-
sive experience in bills of exchange, enforcement of security law and commercial litigation.
Advises financial institutions, creditors, receivers and trustees in bankruptcy concerning
the realization of security and their ranking, as well as with respect to insolvency and
asset recovery. He also frequently represents US creditors (Chrysler USA, CIT, CNH-
CASE, Global Payments, Veyance and official unsecured creditors' committees) in major
insolvency and restructuring matters. President of the Canadian Bar Association's Bank-
ruptcy and Insolvency Section, QC Division (CBA Award granted to the section during
his mandate). Member of the INSOL Association, ADMA, ACFE and TMA. Obtained
LLB from Laval University in 1997. Completed MBA with recognition award through
combined program with the Université Laval and Clark University in Worcester, Mass. in
2000. Called to the Québec Bar in 2001.
Sophie Prégent acts as both litigator and counsel to clients from various industries, such as
energy production, transportation, product manufacturing, real estate and agri-food. Her
sought-aer expertise and versatility enables her to meet all needs in the areas of adminis-
trative law, business law and litigation from an environmental perspective. Specialized in
administrative law, her practice is focused on environmental, energy and natural resources
law, regulatory compliance as well as government relations and constitutional law. She also
handles matters related to land use planning and development, penal law and Aboriginal
law. She advises clients on all aspects related to their business operations, including the ne-
gotiation and draing of agreements and contracts, project compliance analysis, investiga-
tions and inspections, the obtaining of permits, environmental risk management strategies
as well as contaminant discovery and the remediation of contaminated lands. Recognized
for her communication skills, she has delivered many talks and written numerous articles.
