110 | LEXPERT December 2015 | www.lexpert.ca Domenico Magisano's practice is focused on the corporate and litigation elements of in- solvency and restructuring law. e cases in this area are complex because they require counsel to simultaneously address all elements of the insolvent business: contract, supply, service and delivery issues; statutory, contractual and common-law obligations to employ- ees; as well as obligations to a variety of secured and unsecured creditors. Magisano has been noted as a creative and practical problem-solver when dealing with difficult insol- vency issues. An example of this can be found in the receivership of North Park Veterinary Clinic — a rare case where a debtor was permitted to put itself into receivership so that it could control the liquidation process. Magisano appears regularly on the commercial list and has appeared numerous times before the Ontario Court of Appeal, notable because it is quite rare in insolvency circles. He was also named one of Lexpert®'s "Rising Stars: Lead- ing Lawyers Under 40" and as a Local Litigation Star ‒ Ontario, in Insolvency, in the 2014 and 2015 issues of Benchmark Canada. Partner. Eli Lederman's practice covers a broad range of complex commercial litigation matters, including securities law, class actions, commercial contracts, oppression and other shareholder litigation. He regularly acts for directors and officers of private and public cor- porations and advises boards and their committees on governance and litigation matters. Lederman has extensive trial experience in commercial litigation and in medical malprac- tice actions, and also acts as counsel in commercial arbitrations. He has appeared as lead counsel at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada, the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Lederman represents clients in a wide range of sectors, including those in financial services, information technology, real estate, franchising and manufacturing. Lederman is a frequent speaker in continuing legal education programs, particularly on issues relating to contractual disputes, securities law and trial advocacy. Luisa Ritacca's practice encompasses a wide variety of areas, including professional regula- tion, administrative law, and civil and commercial litigation. Ritacca regularly advises US clients seeking to obtain documentary and oral discovery from Canadian parties and has represented Canadians subject to US production orders. Ritacca acts as independent legal counsel for a number of regulated health colleges in the province and she acts for corporate clients in advertising disputes before Advertising Standards Canada. She was appointed by former Chief Justice Warren Winkler to act as court monitor in the administration of two pan-Canadian settlements involving the tainted blood scandal, as well as the settlement involving water contamination in Walkerton, Ontario. Ritacca has been involved in three judicial inquiries, including serving as co-counsel to the Office of the Chief Coroner in the Inquiry into Pediatric Forensic Pathology, counsel for Peter McCallion in the Mississauga Judicial Inquiry, and counsel to the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario in the Elliot Lake Inquiry. Danielle Robitaille is a partner at Henein Hutchison LLP. Robitaille is a litigator. She has appeared at all levels of court in Canada and has extensive trial and appellate experi- ence defending individuals and corporations charged with criminal and quasi-criminal offenses. Robitaille regularly appears before senior regulatory and disciplinary bod- ies for the defense as well as prosecution. Her courtroom experience is matched by her focused, strategic advice aimed at efficiently achieving the best result. Robitaille's cases range from high-profile serious criminal matters to complex multi-pronged corporate cases with Charter or public law components. She is a member of e Advocates' Society and serves on the Young Advocates' Society Committee and the Standing Committee on Advocacy and Practice. Robitaille has lectured at programs run by the Law Society of Upper Canada, Osgoode Professional Development, e Advocates' Society and the Ontario Court of Justice.
