Derrick Tay leads the fi rm's corporate restructuring practice. His primary focus is on
the restructuring and reorganization of complex debtor corporations, and he has deep
experience in cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions, including being debtor's
counsel for Nortel Networks Limited and counsel to the Monitor in the Sino-Forest
proceedings. He and his Québec partners are also debtor's counsel in the proceedings of
Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Canada Co., whose trains were involved in the Lac Mégan-
tic train disaster. He has also written and spoken extensively and has taught courses at
several law schools.
