Senior partner of the fi rm, James Woods practices exclusively in litigation and arbitra-
tion and has pleaded at all levels of the federal and provincial courts in Ontario and Qué-
bec, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Member of the Faculty of Law and lecturer
in civil litigation at McGill University. Author of Cases and Materials in Civil Procedure
(Carswell Legal Publications, 1987) and numerous articles and papers, including "Measur-
ing the Results of Class Actions," IBA Conference on Class Actions, Rome, 2007. Called
to the Bars of Québec in 1976, Ontario in 1979, Alberta and British Columbia in 2006,
England and Wales in 2007 and Barreau de Paris in 2013. Has also acted as an arbitrator,
either as president or member of an arbitration tribunal, and has acted as attorney in many
commercial and international arbitrations, either ad hoc or ICC.
Counsel in BLG's International Trade and Arbitration Group. He has experience in in-
ternational commercial and investment treaty arbitration, as well as complex commercial
disputes. He has appeared as counsel in ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID, SCC, SIAC, BCI-
CAC and ad hoc arbitration proceedings, and in the Appeal, Supreme, and Provincial
Courts of British Columbia. He holds an LLB from the University of Alberta and was
called to the British Columbia Bar in 2002. He also holds a BA and BEd, both from the
University of British Columbia and is a non-practicing member of the roll of solicitors,
England and Wales as of 2011. He is a member of the ICC Canada Arbitration Commit-
tee, including as a listed arbitrator, the International Council for Commercial Arbitration,
the Institute for Transnational Arbitration, as an advisory board member and the LCIA.

Tina Cicchetti is a lawyer in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group whose prac-
tice focuses on domestic and international commercial and investment arbitration. She has
been involved in a number of arbitrations as sole arbitrator, counsel or tribunal secretary in
a wide range of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder disputes, con-
struction and distribution agreements. Experience with cases under the ICC, AAA,
ICDR, JCAA, Swiss, LCIA, UNCITRAL and BCICAC Rules. Fluent in English and
reading knowledge of French, Spanish and Italian. From 2003 to 2011, taught a seminar
on international commercial disputes as an adjunct professor at the University of British
Columbia, Faculty of Law. Former President and current Advisory Board member of the
Young Canadian Arbitration Practitioners and board member of the Western Canada
Commercial Arbitration Society. Recognized by e Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directo-
