PTTEP ACQUIRES REMAINING
60% INTEREST IN STATOIL ASSETS
Closing date: May 28, 2014
PTTEP Canada Limited completed its acquisition of the
remaining 60 per cent ownership interest in the Thorn-
bury, Hangingstone and South Leismer oil sands areas from
Statoil Canada Ltd., in exchange for PTTEP Canada Lim-
ited selling to Statoil Canada Ltd. PTTEP's remaining 40
per cent ownership interest in the Leismer and Corner proj-
ects, as well as approximately US$200 million in cash plus a
working capital adjustment.
Statoil now owns and operates 100 per cent of the Leis-
mer and Corner development projects, while PTTEP owns
and operates 100 per cent of the Thornbury, Hangingstone
and South Leismer areas.
PTTEP was represented by Stikeman Elliott LLP. The
Stikeman Elliott team was composed of Lawson Hunter,
Michael Kilby and Marisa Muchnik (Investment Canada
and competition); Chris Nixon, Benjamin Hudy and
Kurtis Reed (M&A) and Douglas Richardson (tax).
PTTEP was also represented in-house by Utchariya
Earn Yodpet and Yongsith Kosawititkul.

INDIAN OIL ACQUIRES
ASSETS IN BC AND WEST COAST

Indian Oil Corporation Limited, through its affiliates, ac-
quired – as per its purchase and sale agreements with Prog-
ress Energy Canada Ltd. and PETRONAS Carigali Canada
B.V. – a 10 per cent interest in Progress Energy Canada Ltd.'s
natural gas reserves in northeast British Columbia and in the
proposed Pacific NorthWest LNG export facility on Cana-
da's West Coast, and related joint venture arrangements.
Indian Oil Corporation Limited was represented by
Stikeman Elliott LLP's Fred Erickson, Kurtis Reed, Kevin
Guenther, Andrew Wong, Cameron Anderson and Pat-
rick McNally (energy/M&A); David Weekes and Julie
