ACQUIRES THE DIBRINA GROUP
CLOSING DATE: OCTOBER 4, 2017
On October 4, 2017, Gallagher Benefit Ser-
vices (Canada) Group Inc., a subsidiary of
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (AJG), completed
its acquisition of substantially all the assets of
the DiBrina Group. e terms of the transac-
tion were not disclosed.
e DiBrina Group provides human re-
hand in hand with AJG's senior manage-
ment and its legal team led by Samantha
Alfonzo (Chief Legal Counsel) and Valerie
Eisen (Legal Counsel, on secondment from
Fasken Martineau).
Weaver, Simmons LLP advised the Di-
Brina Group in this transaction with a team
consisting of Steve Moutsatsos, Nicholas
Kuchtaruk and Sheena Alexander.
WEST FRASER COMPLETES
US$430M ACQUISITION
OF GILMAN COS.

On August 31, 2017, West Fraser Timber Co.
Ltd. (West Fraser) completed its US$430
million acquisition of the Gilman Group
from the Howard Gilman Foundation.
e Gilman Group consists of six saw-
mills and a finger-jointing facility in Florida
and Georgia with a combined capacity of
700 million board feet of lumber produc-
tion and 900 employees. e transaction
