He has a national and international clientele, including Europe- and Asia-based airlines. Maxime Faille relocated to Vancouver from Ottawa. As the leader of Gowling WLG's Aboriginal practice group, he has focused his 20-year career on Aboriginal and treaty rights, First Nation taxation, self- government, Aboriginal consultation and accommodation, Impact and Benefit Agree- ments and economic development. Tina Cicchetti, partner at Fasken Mar- tineau DuMoulin LLP, was elected Vice- Chair of the ICC Canada Arbitration Committee. She will serve two years as the Vice-Chair of the committee, before becom- ing its Chair. She would like to increase the membership ranks during her tenure, espe- cially in Western Canada, she told Cana- dian Lawyer magazine in November. Harper Grey LLP welcomed Derek Mah as associate counsel in its critical injury prac- tice group. Ken Chow joined Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP as an associate in the firm's securities practice group. ALBERTA CALGARY In Calgary, Josef Hocher (see above) and Kenton Rein relocated to Cassels Brock where they are now both partners. Rein practises with the firm's financial services group. He acts on cross-border transactions for financial institutions and borrowers, and for purchasers and vendors in M&A deals. Rein was previously with Stikeman Elliott. James Eamon, QC, was appointed to the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench. He was previously a partner with Gowling WLG. In Edmonton, Kevin Freehan, QC, for- merly of Dentons, was appointed a judge of the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench. Christopher Zelyas moved his litiga- tion practice to Dentons Canada, after leaving Parlee McLaws. Zelyas has appeared before all levels of the Alberta and Federal courts, focusing on applications for immediate in- junctive relief in intellectual property and commercial matters. Notably, he was lead counsel on Reckitt Ben- ckiser v. Jamieson Laboratories, in which the Court inferred irreparable harm from evidence of confusion and granted a pre-trial order forcing the defendant to cease use of a brand name pending trial. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School. ALAN HUTCHISON Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP Vancouver Corporate CHRISTOPHER ZELYAS Dentons Canada LLP Edmonton Litigation JOSEF HOCHER Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP Calgary Energy Law Alan Hutchison relocated to Osler, where he focuses on securities and corporate-commercial law as well as mining law. He was most recent- ly co-chair of Dentons' mining prac- tice group. He has advised public companies and securities dealers globally in his more than 15 years of practice. Matters include: public and private financing transactions (both equity and debt), takeover bids, M&As, corporate reorgan- izations and joint ventures. Last year, he assisted Lion One in its non-brokered private placement, for proceeds of $38.2 million. Josef Hocher joined Cassels Brock's Calgary office, adding his expertise in the oil and gas sector to the firm's roster. He has a global practice in energy law — with matters including crude oil, natural gas and LNG projects — and was among the founders of Buried Hill Energy, an oil and gas company with operations in Turkmenistan. Hocher also serves as chair of Orthoshop Geomatics, a geomatics services company. Prior to joining Cassels Brock, he was a partner at Osler. MOVES
