The amendments to the Act are not expected to differ much from
the report tabled last year and therefore should not affect the
regulation of financial planning, but at the IQPF we are on our guard
and keeping a close eye on the latest developments.
Sound governance and managing strategic risk
In September, the members of the Board of Directors attended
a training workshop on managing strategic risk. Knowing how to
identify the risks that face the IQPF and stand in the way of our
objectives contributes to good governance. By learning about the
topic, the directors are better able to evaluate these risks and take
action to avoid them.
The new Solution IQPF
I hope you've tried it! When we started updating the Solution IQPF,
we set up a committee of financial planners to take part in meetings
at various stages and test the functionalities of the new Solution, to
gather their comments and reactions. It was a good way to ensure
that the tool is well-suited to the needs of its target users: financial
planners.
Three financial planners offered their time to take part in the update:
André Lacasse, Frantz D. Pierre-Louis and Léonie St-Pierre Dionne.
Benjamin Vachon, a director at Atypic, joined them to offer his
expertise on all things web-related. Their comments were used to
make the tool more effective and more ergonomic. I want to thank
every one of them for their contributions!
And on that note, read on, fellow planners!
