This is an important step in the history of the publication, a step that reflects the times. Don't worry – the magazine will stay the same. It's just the paper version that has seen its last. The first issue of La Cible was published in March 1993. If you have been around that long, you may remember that it was just a leaflet, called Le Bulletin. The president at the time, Jocelyne Gagnon, began her message like this: "Our first newsletter – modest, perhaps, but with such promise!" That is how the founding president, Charles Pelletier, promoted this publication idea a few months ago. By the next fall, Le Bulletin had become La Cible. And now, 23 years later, we have made such progress! Times change, habits change, and we are going along with the trends. 2016-2019 Strategic Plan Since 2016 marks the end of the IQPF's second triennial strategic plan, we needed to develop our 2016-2019 strategic plan. We took this opportunity to review the IQPF's values. Integrity, diligence and transparency will continue to serve as fundamental values, and we have added excellence and commitment to replace professionalism, which is more of a behaviour than a value. We also overhauled the IQPF's statements of mission and vision, as follows: Mission: To protect the personal finances of the public by training financial planners and establishing standards of professionnal practice. Vision: To stand as the benchmark for personal finance through the official recognition of the profession of financial planner. Official recognition of the profession has become a strategic issue unto itself. In the summer of 2015, we made it a central priority.
