counsel in matters involving intellectual property litigation, commercial litigation,

at the University of Calgary Law School and in 2010 was the first Silas Hylak Chair in
Advocacy at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law. Past President, County

emphasis on commercial litigation, public and administrative law, arbitration, Aboriginal
law and insurance law. Has appeared before all Ontario courts, the Nunavut Court of
Justice, Federal Courts and the Supreme Court of Canada, with over 100 reported cases.
Has represented Aboriginal groups and government authorities in cases involving land
claims, improper surrender, breach of both modern and historical treaties, self-govern-
ment issues, and s. 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982. Commission Counsel to Elliot Lake
Commission of Inquiry; Counsel to the Right Honorable Jean Chrétien in the Gomery
Inquiry, the Correctional Investigator in the Prison for Women Inquiry, and Assistant

Patrick Ouellet: Partner of the firm since 2006, he is known as a hands-on trial lawyer
