Don Greenfi eld was called to the Alberta Bar in 1979 and appointed Queen's Counsel
in 2012. He is a partner in Bennett Jones's corporate commercial department and head
of the fi rm's oil and gas practice group. Greenfi eld has 36 years of experience in Canada
and internationally, in asset and share sales and acquisitions; upstream, midstream,
LNG and oil sands development, construction and operating matters and fi nancings;
and Investment Canada Act and Competition Act matters. Greenfi eld has contributed to
several Canadian Petroleum Law Foundation and Association of International Petro-
leum Negotiators seminars and has taught courses for Insight, the Conference Board, the
University of Calgary, Mount Royal University and the Canadian Association of Petro-

Doug Crowther co-leads the Dentons Canada Energy Sector group. His practice focuses
on energy regulatory law and includes representation of industry interests before such
bodies as the National Energy Board, the Alberta Utilities Commission and the Alberta
Energy Regulator. He appears as counsel in respect of: pipeline and electricity facility
approvals; industry disputes; toll/rate and tariff matters; and electric and gas utility regula-
tion. He has been actively involved in numerous signifi cant proceedings including those
relating to: restructuring of the Alberta electricity industry; the setting of electricity and
pipeline tolls/rates and tariff s; and pipeline project approval. He also advises developers of
transmission, co-generation, renewable and other electric power projects.
