Sarat Maharaj is a partner in the fi rm's Corporate/Commercial Group. Maharaj's
practice includes providing advice to clients on mergers, acquisitions and sale transac-
tions, including reorganizations and amalgamations. He assists both public and private
issuers in raising capital through private placements and with their respective disclo-
sure and reporting requirements. Maharaj also advises clients on various corporate
and commercial issues such as corporate governance, securities, corporate fi nance and
the organization of new business ventures. Prior to joining Dentons in 2010, Maharaj
practiced corporate/commercial law in Toronto with another leading Canadian law
fi rm. Maharaj has also obtained his Chartered Accountant designation while working
in Edmonton with a leading international accounting fi rm.

Blair McCreadie is a partner in the Employment & Labour Group of Dentons
Toronto offi ce, where he practices in all areas of employment and labor law. He is a
member of the fi rm's Public Policy Practice Group, providing strategic advice to clients
on government relations and public policy issues. He has been a Co-instructor at the
University of Guelph, Offi ce of Open Learning, for courses on occupational health and
safety law, negotiations and contract administration. He co-authored a book for human
resources professionals on occupational health and safety. McCreadie is the immediate
Past President of the Ontario PC Party, and has been a frequent media commentator
on provincial political issues. McCreadie has represented employers in Ontario Labour
Relations Board proceedings, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board appeals, griev-
ance arbitrations, employment standards and human rights complaints, and wrongful
dismissal actions. He has particular experience advising clients in the forestry and trans-
portation sectors.

Michael McLaren is a partner and member of the Management Committee of
orsteinssons LLP whose practice focuses on corporate and international tax planning,
regularly advising multi-national groups in a wide range of sectors on a variety of matters,
including: inbound and outbound investment/fi nancing; M&A; divestitures; restructur-
ings; and natural resource taxation. McLaren is the Editor-in-chief of the International
Tax Planning Journal, is on the editorial board of the CCH Income Tax Act, is a member
of the CBA – CPA Joint Committee on Taxation and is a member of the Canadian Tax
Foundation, International Fiscal Association and the International Bar Association.
McLaren is listed in International Who's Who of Corporate Tax Lawyers, International
Who's Who of Business Lawyers, Who's Who Legal: Canada, the Expert Guide and the
