He advises both lenders and borrowers in the structuring and negotiation of complex corporate and commercial lending transactions, including syndicated and bi-lateral fi nancings. Johnson routinely leads internal and external teams on both domestic and multi-jurisdictional matters. He has particular experience acting for Schedule I Canadian Banks, large US-based fi nancial institutions and sector-specifi c lenders in connection with their provision of credit to the utility, private-equity, REIT, mining, medical, construction, infrastructure, automotive, IT and consumer products sectors. He acts for both Canadian and Korean companies in connection with projects and operations located around the world. Based in Vancouver and fl uent in Korean, Kim has been involved in some of the most complex transactions that have shaped the outbound investments made by Korean companies in the mining industry worldwide. He was recognized as one of Lexpert®'s "Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40" in 2014. » Christine Kowbel practices environmental and Aboriginal law, providing advice in respect of major project development, environmental assessment, permitting, opera- tional matters and acquisition and sale of industrial projects. She provides specialized mining industry advice, representing clients with respect to permitting and regulatory aspects of exploration, development, operation and closure of mining projects. Her other clients include energy, forestry and other natural resource sector companies, as well as banking institutions and real estate developers.
