Jeff Christian is a litigation partner in the Vancouver offi ce of Lawson Lundell LLP, with
a practice focused on energy and regulated utilities. He appears regularly before adminis-
trative tribunals such as the Alberta and BC Utilities Commissions. He also acts for clients
in the insurance, manufacturing and retail sectors at all levels of court, in arbitrations and
in mediations. Christian also acts as counsel to US fi nanciers on regulatory proceedings

Head of Torys' Project Finance Practice, co-head of the Secured Lending Group, Japan

Goreway power project; the borrower in the C$650-million project development and
fi nancing of the 1005 MW Greenfi eld Energy Centre power project; and the monoline

Chris Sanderson's practice focuses on regulation and First Nations consultation in
the energy and resource sectors throughout Western and Northern Canada. He advises
utilities, marketers, mine and energy project developers and governments with respect
to project authorizations, consultation requirements, transportation arrangements and
marketing issues in the natural gas, oil, electricity and mining sectors. Sanderson appears
frequently before federal and provincial permitting, energy and environmental boards
in BC, Alberta and the Northwest Territories. Sanderson is recognized in Chambers

Doug Crowther co-leads the Dentons Canada Energy Sector group. His practice focuses
on energy regulatory law and includes representation of industry interests before such
bodies as the National Energy Board, the Alberta Utilities Commission and the Alberta
Energy Regulator. He appears as counsel in respect of: pipeline and electricity facility
approvals; industry disputes; toll/rate and tariff matters; and electric and gas utility regula-
tion. He has been actively involved in numerous signifi cant proceedings, including those
relating to: restructuring of the Alberta electricity industry; the setting of electricity and
