They are SATRA tested, CSA and CE approved and offer toe protection to 200 joules, double the minimum inter- national standard required for toe protection. Slipp-Rs are an attractive, durable and cost-effective solution to workers' slip-related injuries, says the manufacturer. www.safetytoes.com ANTI-FATIGUE INSOLES MegaComfort's Personal Anti-Fatigue Mat provides anti-fatigue matting in the form of insoles. Recommended for use in industrial and extra-depth footwear, the insoles are a cost effective way to replace or relocate expensive anti-fatigue matting, says the manufacturer. The insoles are safer than matting and are more employee responsive since they are on the worker's body. The insoles, made of dual layered memory foam technology, offer maximum shock absorption and maximum com- fort for the wearer. They are machine washable and come in 12 sizes. The memory foam construction compresses to ensure safe clearance in footwear with steel toes. They have an odour-reducing scent and are designed to be anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-perspiration. Since the insoles are in direct contact with the wearer's feet, they are more effective than standard anti-fatigue fl oor mats, says the manufacturer. They are better at reducing muscle strain, improving balance reactions and increasing blood circulation. They allow the wearer to take their own individual and personalized comfort zone everywhere they go in the workplace. The insoles meet all product safety standards. www.megacomfort.com OHS HYBRID ENERGY-ABSORBING LANYARD Honeywell has launched the Hybrid Energy- Absorbing Lanyard. The lanyard is the fi rst-of-its-kind fall protection lanyard to meet CSA standards for both Class E4 — designed for lighter workers (100 lbs. to 254 lbs.) — and Class E6 for heavier workers (200 lbs. to 386 lbs.), says the manufacturer. The lanyard eliminates the guesswork involved in choosing the appropriate lanyard for work- ers of different weights, thereby reducing error and increasing safety for those working at height. Historically, to meet these different class requirements, safety managers have either stocked both classes of lanyards or relied on just one class for use by workers of all weights — a practice that is not CSA compliant and is potentially unsafe. The new Honeywell hybrid energy-absorbing lanyard is the simple, safe and fully compliant solution, says the manufacturer. It increases worker safety by eliminating the need to stock and choose between two types of lanyards. The new lanyard is available in a variety of styles, from both Miller and North fall protection brands. www.honeywell.com LIGHT-DUTY HYFLEX GLOVES Ansell has introduced new ultra-durable light- duty work gloves to the HyFlex line. The knitted gloves are engineered to incorporate Fortrix abrasion resistance technology, a thin, resilient yet breathable nitrile foam coating meant to drastically extend their working life when compared to other gloves and also improve their comfort in abrasive applications. Industrial workers tend to want lighter weight gloves that are comfortable and have superior dexterity. Gloves without these features can cause workers to remove them, increasing risk of injuries and also jeopardizing the quality of the product or process they are working on, undermining safety and performance and driving up costs for employers. The gloves are seamless, with ultra-thin palm coating for equal protection to heavier gloves but without the extra bulk. Varying stitch designs around stress areas tailor the gloves' fi t and enhance hand movement for higher dexterity and reduced fatigue, giving peace of mind to workers and employers, says the manufacturer. www.ansell.com GAS DETECTION CALIBRATION SOFTWARE GMI's fl exiCal Plus is a Windows-based software package that allows users to test and calibrate the GMI range of portable instruments to comply with relevant legislation. All GMI porta- ble instruments have two-way communications allowing data to be transmitted and received. The fl exiCal Plus software can be confi gured to test and calibrate instruments either manually or automatically. This provides the user with a quick, easy and reliable method of ensuring that instruments are correctly calibrated, GMI says. Equipment does not have to be taken out of service for extended time periods while testing is undertaken. Using fl exiCal Plus allows the user to specify how instruments will be tested and calibrated and includes gases, concentrations and pass-or-fail criteria. All results are stored automati- cally on the user's PC or laptop. If required, a test/calibration certifi cate can be produced automatically after successful completion of instrument testing. www.gmiuk.com ATMOSPHERIC MONITOR GfG Instrumentation has released the G460 multi-sensor atmospheric monitor. The G460 has a hardy, concussion- proof boot and a protective housing that is resistant to dust and water. The housing protects the instrument in even the harshest of environments. The G460 monitor has completely automatic calibration, easy one-button operation, a clear top mounted display, interchangeable battery packs, a highly confi gurable smart sensor design and data and event logging. Extra options include a dual-range infrared combustible gas sensor, a motorized pump operable in diffusion or sample draw mode and up to seven channels of detection. There is also a wide range of optional additional sensors available for extra cus- tomization. The monitor comes with a three-year warranty on oxygen, combustible, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide and carbon dioxide sensors. www.goodforgas.com FOOT PROTECTION SLIPP-R OVERSHOE Safetytoes International offers the Slipp-R safety over- shoe, a purpose-designed overshoe made of a durable rubber and offering many safety features that go beyond basic toe protection. The durable overshoe is electric shock resistant to 14,000 volts, thermal resistant up to 150 C and will not harden, stiffen or crack even if used in the coldest weather or climate. The overshoes are made of a unique rubber material that is specially made to improve the protection they offer the wearer. The design of the Slipp-R overshoes also works to improve their slip resistance. Slipp-Rs are CONNECTED one_third_ad_v4.indd 1 2015-02-02 2:25 PM
