Head of the Litigation Department of Davies in Toronto, with extensive experience in
complex, "high stakes" litigation at the trial and appellate levels. Has acted as counsel in a

securities cases, competition law and class actions. Has recently argued successfully a num-
ber of appeals in the Supreme Court of Canada involving the law of oppression, plans of
arrangement, the intersection of copyright and broadcasting law and the law of contested
elections. Has also conducted complex domestic and international arbitrations in Canada,

Partner. Mark Veneziano is a trial lawyer, having conducted over 40 trials and arbitra-
tions as lead counsel. Veneziano's practice has a particular emphasis on commercial and
civil litigation, medical malpractice, class actions, securities litigation and professional dis-
cipline. Named as one of Lexpert®'s "Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40" (2009) and
by Best Lawyers for his work in corporate and commercial litigation, he has acted as lead
counsel in cases involving the duties of physicians, stockbrokers, engineers, lawyers, ac-
countants and auditors. Veneziano has also taught trial advocacy at the University of To-
ronto, Faculty of Law, and is a frequent instructor and speaker at sessions sponsored by e
Advocates' Society and various organizations.
