He has particu- lar expertise in arbitration and arbitration-related court proceedings, private international law, and lawyers' confl icts of interest. Called to the Bar of Ontario in 1997, he was clerk to Justice Gonthier of the Supreme Court of Canada, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insti- tute of Arbitrators. He has appeared in all levels of court and various administrative and arbitral tribunals, and has acted as an arbitrator. He has taught international commercial arbitration as an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto for more than a decade. Partner. Will McDowell's wide-ranging practice has included many landmark cases, most notably in the Supreme Court of Canada, focusing on professional discipline, libel and criminal law. From 2005 to 2008, he was Canada's Associate Deputy Minister of Jus- tice, with responsibility for civil litigation, national security and issues involving federal agencies. He subsequently assisted Ontario's Truth and Reconciliation Commission in- quiry into Native residential schools, served as amicus to the Superior Court with regard to land occupations in Brantford and was chief counsel to the City of Mississauga Judicial Inquiry. McDowell's work in resolving the Maher Arar v. Canada case was honored by a Department of Justice National Award. McDowell is an elected Bencher of the Law Soci- ety of Upper Canada. Partner. Called to the Ontario Bar in 1974. Practices exclusively civil litigation and ad- ministrative law. Has appeared in all levels of court in Ontario, the Supreme Court of Canada and the Federal Court, and many administrative tribunals. Acted as lead commis- sion counsel for the Ipperwash Inquiry. Acts as an arbitrator and mediator. Is a fellow of the ACTL. Derry Millar is a former Treasurer (President) of e Law Society of Upper Canada, the governing body for Ontario lawyers and paralegals. He was fi rst elected a Bencher (Director) of the LSUC in 1995 and has been Chair and Vice Chair of a wide variety of LSUC Committees and a Director of the Lawyers' Professional Indemnity Company. Millar was a member of the Board of Legal Aid Ontario from January 1999 to June 2008 and was reappointed a Director in April 2011. Has been a speaker and delivered papers at a wide variety of legal seminars and has contributed to legal publications. He was a law clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada. Terrence J. O'Sullivan was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1973. His practice includes civil and commercial litigation with an emphasis on business disputes, fi nancial institution litigation, class actions, defense of regulatory charges and professional discipline matters. He regularly appears in all levels of courts in Ontario and other provinces, including the Supreme Court of Canada. O'Sullivan is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Law- yers, a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and a past president of e Advocates' Society of Ontario. He was a co-author of the Civil Justice Review (volumes one and two) and is former Chair of the Joint Committee on Court Reform of the province of Ontario. O'Sullivan writes and speaks extensively and is an occasional lecturer and demon- strator for the Osgoode Hall Intensive Advocacy Program. O'Sullivan also acts as a media- tor and an arbitrator.
