including the litigation involving the restructuring of the Asset-Backed Commercial Paper
market, the contest over the acquisition of BCE, the Danier Leather class action, and the
Indalex priority dispute. Awarded 2006 Law Society Medal (highest honor) by LSUC,
the 2007 Award of Distinction by TLA for outstanding contributions to the legal profes-
sion and the 2009 OBA Award for Excellence in Civil Litigation. Named "Toronto Litiga-

Margaret Waddell is a senior partner of Paliare Roland Rosenberg Rothstein LLP, and
leader of its Class Action practice group. She has particular experience and expertise in this
specialized fi eld, where she acts for both plaintiff s and defendants. Waddell has appeared
as counsel in a number of precedent-establishing and well-known class actions. Waddell is
regularly requested to appear as a lecturer at both substantive and practical skills continu-
ing legal education programs. Waddell is a Trustee of the Toronto Lawyers' Association, an
Executive Member of the Ontario Bar Association Class Action Subgroup, a member of
the Law Commission of Ontario's Advisory Committee on Class Action Reform, and is a
former Director of e Advocates' Society, where she was Chair of its Subcommittee on
Advocacy and Practice.
Partner and leader of Harrison Pensa's Class Action Group with an emphasis on securi-
ties, competition law, pensions, consumer law and copyright law, among others. An expe-
rienced litigator with exposure to virtually all aspects of class-actions practice, including an
emphasis on class-action trials. Has also achieved substantial settlement results totaling
more than C$150 million across a wide range of matters. Adjunct Professor teaching class
actions at the University of Western Ontario Law School. Frequent writer and presenter at
legal conferences and commentator in the national print and television media. Graduate
of the University of Western Ontario law school and called to the Ontario Bar in 2002.
Completed the "Emerging Leaders in Law Firms Program" at Harvard Law School in

Partner and Montréal regional leader of BLG's Class Actions Group. Defends corporate
clients in class-action suits on matters of product liability, telecommunications, insurance,
securities litigation, pension funds, professional liability, consumer law, defamation
and Charter of Rights. In addition to defense work, has represented the appellant on the
plaintiff side before the Supreme Court of Canada in 2009 in two class-action suits seeking
the reimbursement of municipal taxes. Chair of subcommittee on the Superior Court
rules of practice, Québec Bar Advisory Committee on Class Actions. Recognized by e
Best Lawyers in Canada (class action litigation) and Benchmark Canada (class actions,
commercial litigation, insurance, product liability, securities). Faculty member of the Os-
