He defends clients charged with various off enses, including white-collar crime and disciplinary off enses. He also represents clients facing or conducting investigations (including regulatory bodies and businesses), and gives advice on compliance with anti-spam, anti-bribery and money-laun- dering laws. Chan has conducted trials and appeals before various tribunals and every level of court in Ontario. He has also argued a number of leading cases in the Supreme Court of Canada, including several on digital privacy and electronic evidence. Chan previously practiced commercial litigation with Goodmans LLP. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School as gold medalist and clerked for Justice Abella at the Supreme Court of Cana- da. Jim Bunting has a diverse civil and complex commercial liti- gation practice that includes corporate commercial disputes, securities litigation, class ac- tions, arbitration, advertising disputes, directors' and offi cers' liability, insolvency matters, defamation and franchise matters. Bunting also represents clients in sports-related dis- putes, including doping charges, sponsorship issues and disciplinary proceedings. Has ap- peared at various levels of court throughout Canada as well as in complex domestic and international arbitrations and before a number of administrative tribunals such as the On- tario Securities Commission and the Environmental Review Tribunal. Nadia Eff endi is a partner and member of BLG's Commercial Litigation and Public Law Groups. She also serves as the Chair of BLG's Supreme Court of Canada Agency Group, through which she represents clients as their agent before the Supreme Court of Canada (SCC). Eff endi's practice focuses on civil litigation with an emphasis on representing cli- ents in commercial, administrative, regulatory and constitutional law litigation matters. She regularly appears before all levels of court on a wide variety of civil and public law liti- gation matters, including before provincial appellate courts and the SCC. Eff endi has also appeared before numerous administrative tribunals, including the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board (PMPRB) and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. She served as Commission Counsel for the Elliot Lake Commission of Inquiry investigating the col- lapse of the Algo Centre Mall in June 2012. Prior to joining BLG, Eff endi served as a law clerk to e Honorable Justice Bastarache at the SCC. In 2013, Eff endi was named one of Lexpert®'s "Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40." Timothy Fitzsimmons is a partner in the fi rm's Toronto offi ce. His practice focuses on domestic and international tax dispute resolution and litigation. Fitzsimmons advises indi- viduals, corporations and other entities during audits, objections and appeals regarding federal and provincial taxes, including income tax, GST/HST, sales and payroll taxes. He works with clients across a variety of industries, including natural resources, transporta- tion, health care, fi nancial services, government, communications, hi-tech and manufac- turing.
