Mark A. Gelowitz is a partner in the litigation department of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt
LLP. He is Chair of the fi rm's National Corporate Governance and Securities Litigation
Group and Co-chair of the fi rm's International Commercial Arbitration Group. Gelowitz
has a business-focused civil litigation, appellate litigation and international commercial
arbitration practice. His cases have covered a wide variety of issues in corporate and com-
mercial law, including mergers & acquisitions litigation, directors' & offi cers' liability, op-
pression remedy, libel and slander, product liability, mining litigation and class-actions
procedure. He completed the BCL degree at Oxford University in 1989 between clerking
for the Chief Justice of Saskatchewan and the late Justice Sopinka of the Supreme Court
of Canada. Gelowitz has had a number of legal publications including a book co-authored
with the late Justice Sopinka entitled e Conduct of an Appeal, ird Edition (LexisNexis

Partner. Linda Fuerst's practice covers a broad range of commercial and professional
liability matters, with a focus on securities litigation, class proceedings and regulatory
issues. She has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, the Supreme Court of Nova
Scotia, and in connection with proceedings of the Ontario, Alberta and Nova Scotia
Securities Commissions, as well as Market Regulation Services (now IIROC), the Mutual
Fund Dealers Association and the Competition Bureau. Fuerst also represents corporations
and individuals with respect to internal investigations. She has earned a Distinguished
Peer Rating from Martindale-Hubbell and a Gold Key Award from the Osgoode Hall Law
School Alumni Association. Fuerst has also been recognized for her work in securities
litigation by Best Lawyers and Lexpert®. Most recently, Fuerst was appointed by the Ontario
Securities Commission to the Securities Proceedings Advisory Committee, and is on the
Ontario Bar Association Executive for Civil Litigation and Class Proceedings.
Partner in Torys' Litigation Practice. Focuses on corporate/commercial, securities and
insolvency matters, including contested transactions, proxy fi ghts, securities litigation,
Ontario Securities Commission investigations, CCAA proceedings and plans of arrange-
ment. Has appeared as counsel in the Court of Appeal, the Superior Court of Justice and
before the Ontario Securities Commission. Representative work includes: disclosure class
actions involving Atlas, BlackBerry, Manulife and CIBC; take-over bid proceedings in-
volving Sears, Sterling Centrecorp, Alamos, InterRent and Western Wind; and the CCAA
proceedings involving Air Canada, Nortel, ABCP and Sino-Forest. A frequent writer on
developments in corporate, securities and insolvency law developments, he teaches securi-
ties regulation at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and lectured on these issues at

Founding partner. Peter Griffi n is recognized by his peers as one of the top litigators in
Canada. He has extensive experience in complex cross-border litigation, especially as it re-
lates to class proceedings and insolvency and restructuring. He regularly advises the boards
of national and multinational companies. He also represents clients in arbitration and al-
ternative dispute resolution proceedings and acts as an arbitrator in commercial disputes.
As a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, he is constantly sought out as an
expert speaker on advocacy, shareholder disputes, class actions, professional liability and
insolvency and restructuring.
