Joel Rochon is a partner at Rochon Genova LLP and heads the fi rm's class-action prac-
tice with emphasis on product liability, securities, transportation law and consumer goods
class-action litigation. Rochon's achievements of note include the certifi cation and settle-
ment of the Wilson v. Servier Canada diet drugs litigation (the fi rst defective drug case to
be certifi ed in Canada). Rochon is or has been lead or co-lead counsel on a number of sig-
nifi cant class actions, including the C$1.2 billion resolution of Nortel securities litigation,
Maple Leaf Foods tainted meat settlement, the landmark Toyota unintended acceleration
litigation and ongoing class-action litigation involving CIBC, SNC Lavalin, and market
timing in mutual funds. Rochon was educated at the University of Western Ontario, Mc-
Gill University, and graduated from the Université de Moncton, Faculty of Law (in
French) in 1986. He is admitted to the Ontario Bar.
Guy Pratte focuses his practice on civil litigation (with emphasis on commercial litiga-
tion and class actions), administrative and constitutional law. He is also o en retained in
complex cases of all types. Fully bilingual, he has an active practice in Ontario and Québec.
Pratte regularly pleads before the Supreme Court of Canada and the Superior and Appeal
