Michael Innes's practice focuses on corporate fi nance and securities, mergers and
acquisitions, private equity and general corporate matters. He has advised clients in
transactions involving the private placement and public off ering of debt and equity
securities, take-over bids, plans of arrangement, private-equity fund formations and
leveraged buy-outs. Innes has particular expertise in debt capital markets transactions.
Innes has been recognized as a leading capital markets lawyer in Canada by IFLR
1000. Innes has provided corporate, M&A and securities law advice to issuers and
market participants in the telecommunications, media, robotics, life sciences, fi nancial,
real estate, semiconductor, mining, printing, food production, electricity and general
technology sectors. He has also advised private-equity funds in the venture and buy-out
sectors in connection with their formation and investment activities.
