Guy Pratte focuses his practice on commercial litigation, including class actions, administrative law and constitutional law, although he is also often retained in complex cases of
all types. Fully bilingual, he has an active practice in Ontario and Québec. Pratte pleads
frequently before the Supreme Court of Canada and the Superior and Appeal Courts
of Ontario and Québec, as well as the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal. In
2012, Guy was named Advocatus Emeritus by the Québec Bar for "outstanding contributions to the legal profession." He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers
and a member of The Advocates' Society. He is also a member of the Supreme Court of
Canada Advocacy Institute. As an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto, he
teaches a course focused on the Supreme Court of Canada. He was the 2013 Milvain
Chair in Advocacy at the University of Calgary Law School.
