The design, build, finance agreement is the key contract in the $1.4 billion Evergreen Line Project, a new rapid transit line that will connect Coquitlam to Vancouver via Port Moody and Burnaby. The contractor team was coordinated by SNC-Lavalin Capital Inc. The primary contractor for the project is EGRT Construction. EGRT Construction has engaged a number of sub-contractors for the design and construction of the Evergreen Line, including SNC-Lavalin Constructors (Pacific) Inc., SNC-Lavalin Constructors (Western) Inc., Graham Building Services, a joint venture comprising Graham Building Services LP and Jardeg Construction Services Ltd., SELI Canada Inc. and Thales Canada Inc. The Province and BCTFA were represented by James Harvey of the Ministry of Justice of British Columbia, Brock Johnston, Allyson Baker and Maggie Cavallin of Clark Wilson LLP, and Bobby Stewart of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP. CHINA MERCHANTS ACQUIRES INTEREST IN PORT DE DJIBOUTI CLOSING DATE: DECEMBER 29, 2012 Djibouti Ports & Free Zones Authority and China Merchants Holdings (International) Company Limited have entered into a share purchase agreement for the acquisition of a 23.5 per cent interest in Port de Djibouti S.A. for $185 million. Port de Djibouti S.A's business includes a multipurpose cargo facility in Djibouti Port and a 66.7 per cent interest in the Dolareh Container Terminal, which is considered to be one of the most technologically advanced container terminal in the African continent. Due to its strategic location on the Red Sea, which is one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, the Republic of Djibouti serves as a gateway to landlocked Ethiopia and as a transshipment hub for trade from countries on Africa's east coast.
