Reinventing Our Profession
As you may have gathered, I am a proponent of modernization
because I know that innovations are already refashioning our
profession. And the future is exciting!
Financial planners have access to more and more high-performance
calculation and projection tools, and our clients have access to more
information and are increasingly interested in their finances.
The world of work is transforming and, consequently, so is the world
of retirement. But how do we see our role in this new reality? Will we
know how to seize opportunities?
Many of us believe that the value of our profession will play out more
than ever in our guiding relationship with our clients. It is a unique,
irreproducible human relationship that provides a distinctive key to
decipher a sea of data and results.
It's now or never, if we want to redefine our profession, draw on new
foundations and double down on our efforts to promote it and have
it recognized. The IQPF aspires to be the leader of this change, and
you will always be able to count on it, your alma mater, to serve as
the ambassador and champion of our profession. This shift is not just
for the Board and the permanent staff: it's everybody's business! So
let's work together toward the shared goal of serving and guiding
our clients.
I intend to finish my term with a strategic planning exercise, another
opportunity to deploy the collective intelligence of the Board. Our
shared vision will be forward-looking to advance our profession even
further and have it recognized. Get ready: IQPF 3.0 is coming!
