First Annual General Assembly by Webcast
Let's get back to the annual general assembly. As you know, it was a
first for the IQPF. Nearly 250 people registered for the event. Based
on a post-assembly survey of the participants, our webcast AGA was
well-liked, with an average score of 5.73 out of 7 (where 1 meant did
not like it at all and 7 meant really liked it). Slightly over half of the
respondents (54.1%) would like future AGAs to be held in person and
by webcast, while a third (36.5%) would prefer webcast only. Just 9.5%
of respondents said that the next assembly should be in person only.
In light of these results, we will evaluate the changes to be made in
2021, because we are convinced that the web format should continue
or at least be combined with the in-person event.
Remote Congress: Join Us!
Preparations for the congress are a massive task, and a host of
decisions are made months in advance. While the global coronavirus
pandemic was starting to sow doubts and uncertainties, the
organizing team turned on a dime, as the saying goes. It worked
hard to deliver another first: an entirely online congress. It redesigned
the event to make it into something extraordinary, albeit virtual.
Of course, the training activity had already been almost entirely
written by the time the pandemic struck. The course you are going
to take in September will be quite similar to the original plan, but the
instructors have adjusted it to reflect the current crisis.
I strongly encourage you to join us. Thanks to technology, all financial
planners in Québec will be able to take part interactively, from
wherever they are. The team has thought up solutions to allow the
participants to network and have fun, including health breaks hosted
by physical educator, speaker and columnist Josée Lavigueur, a
networking dinner where you can join a group of your peers by
videoconference and a presentation by Stéphane Modat, the Château
Frontenac chef.
La Cible in Compliance Mode
The next issue of
La Cible, which will be released in early October,
will focus on compliance. Exceptionally, there will not be a case study.
The issue's quiz will have 50 questions, and completing it will allow
you to earn 5 PDUs in compliance related to standards, ethics and
professional practice (SC). Remember that
La Cible and registration
for the PDU quizzes is free for IQPF affiliates!
Enjoy the magazine, and have a great summer!
