A Good Plan
For several years now, the future of the profession has been one of
the IQPF's strategic issues. As the population ages, this is becoming
a two-fold problem: fewer workers and more clients! We are sparing
no effort to spread the word about the financial planning profession.
This fall, we have a good plan for the up-and-coming generation:
become an IQPF financial planning graduate! With an advertisement
that directly addresses this audience, we hope to attract crowds to
the "Becoming a financial planner" section of our website. To see the
ad, go to: www.iqpf.org/devenir-planificateur-financier/un-bon-plan.
Strategic Planning
In the last few months, the Board of Directors has been working
on the 2019-2022 strategic plan, against the backdrop of artificial
intelligence, one of the biggest transformations our society has faced
since the Industrial Revolution. While our corporate mission has not
changed, the Board saw a need to assert our commitment to the
consumer, by adjusting the vision as follows:
To stand as the benchmark for personal finance through the
official recognition of the profession of financial planner, for the
protection of the public.
To support this vision, four strategic issues have been adopted that
outline our concerns and our commitment to being the leader in
financial planning:
• The industry's new external environment is transforming the
profession and leading the IQPF to question our business model
and service offer.
• The talent pool needs to be replenished, in a period of worker
shortages.
• The financial planning profession still lacks official recognition.
• The general public does not fully understand the benefits of
working with a financial planner.
The related action plan will allow us to provide ever-better
protection for the public and to remain relevant in an era of digital
transformation.
End of the Professional Development Cycle
This fall is not just about promotional campaigns. The 2018-2019
professional development cycle ends November 30 and, as happens
every time a cycle ends, it is a hectic period for the financial planners
(and there are plenty!) who have not yet earned all the required
professional development units (PDUs).
With less than two months to go before the deadline, the IQPF is
offering a variety of ways to expand your knowledge and earn your
PDUs: web courses to earn PDUs in SCFP and IPFP, in-class courses
in different regions and, of course, La Cible, with free quizzes to earn
PDUs in SFPA. Go to the "Professional Development" section of our
website for more details.
