Reviewed and Improved Vision Statement
All that work led to an overhaul of the IQPF vision statement. The updated version
remains true to its essence, but it's more assertive and more clearly states the Board's
determination to create a professional order:
"To remain the benchmark for personal finance and to achieve the creation of a
professional order to protect the public."
A 30-something Campaign for Our 30th Anniversary
To celebrate our 30th anniversary, we have designed a campaign addressed to
30-somethings, a client group we have never specifically targeted. We are stepping off
the track of our usual campaigns by working with Urbania, which has the mission to
"make the ordinary extraordinary." The timing is great, because Urbania has just launched
its new Quatre95 project to talk about personal finances. Three in-depth articles and a
vox pop will be released this fall. We'll keep you informed!
End of the Professional Development Cycle
It's just around the corner. When the IQPF's 2018-2019 Annual Report was published, in
the spring, barely 7% of our affiliates had completed all their professional development
units (PDUs) for the cycle ending November 30. Fall promises to be busy! We will
offer several in-class courses in September, October and November. You can also take
advantage of our online course offering to earn your PDUs in SC-PF and IPFP.
For your PDUs in SFPA, you can subscribe to the PDU quizzes in La Cible. This edition of
La Cible contains an article that allows you to earn 3 PDUs in compliance with standards,
ethics and professional practice (SC). With the October 2018 issue, which also contained
a compliance article, the IQPF offers all the PDUs in SC required for the professional
development cycle. And it's free for affiliates!
Congress
You can also take part in our annual congress, on September 26 and 27 in Mont-
Tremblant, to complete your PDUs in IPFP. It is going to be a special Congress, with a
banquet celebrating the IQPF's 30th anniversary. And to discuss behavioural finance,
we have invited speaker and psychologist Rose-Marie Charest to participate in the
professional development activity that will be led by financial planners Nathalie Bachand,
Nancy D'Amours, Natalie Hotte and Richard Pilotte. Of course, you can also choose to
tele-participate in the congress webcast. So online or in person, it's a date for September!
Have a great summer!
