ity claims, energy (oil and gas), class actions
and construction disputes, representing cli-
ents of all sizes in a wide range of industries.
Stead has successfully obtained precedent-
setting judgments on issues of contractual
limitation of liability, the duties parties
have in construction litigation, awards of
solicitor-client costs, and the application of
Section 121 of the Constitution. His pro
bono activities include spearheading and
supervising McMillan Calgary's participa-
tion in the Duty Counsel program at the
Calgary Courts Centre. Stead volunteers at
Calgary Legal Guidance and he is the Mar-
keting Chair for the Fire Science Litigation
Specialized Litigation Group.

Daniel Stevenson practises Corporate,
Commercial, and Tax and Estate Planning
matters at Cox & Palmer. He advises busi-
ness owners, several banks and individuals
in matters relating to Mergers and Acquisi-
tions and mergers of businesses, commer-
cial financings, tax driven reorganizations,
venture-capital financings, commercial
real estate and succession and estate plan-
ning. Stevenson is a member of the firm's
Student Recruitment Committee. He has
served on numerous boards, including the
Chalmers Foundation Inc., a registered
charity that manages millions of dollars for
the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fred-
ericton. He also serves on the board of the
Brendon Oreto Foundation Inc., another
registered charity that assists underprivi-
leged children by facilitating their partici-
pation in sports across New Brunswick. He
is a member of the New Brunswick Law
Society's Admissions Committee. He has
lectured at the Law Society's Bar Admis-
sion course and, in his spare time, coaches
minor hockey.
