Financial Planning Week 2018
It's just around the corner! In June, we did a survey of the readers
of our newsletter "Planifier, ça fait du bien!" so we could offer
content that reflects their interests and their reality. Among the
many interesting things we learned is that the main qualities our
participants look for in a personal financial management professional
are professionalism and experience. In August, we used our monthly
newsletter to highlight the connection between back-to-school
planning and financial planning and gave our readers a heads-up
for Financial Planning Week in November. The goal is to nurture our
relationship with our supporters before the campaign, and get to
know them better. Because the better we know them, the easier it
is to show them the value of doing business with you!
Congress
For the first time, the IQPF congress was held in September. And
what a success! Three hundred financial planners came together in
La Malbaie and dozens more signed in by webcast to participate in
the professional development activity. If you were unable to take
part, don't worry: the workshop will be available online soon.
We took the opportunity, at the congress, to present the 2017
professional development instructors of the year: Sylvain Houde
and Denis Preston. This title is awarded each year to reward a team
of instructors and highlight their importance for the profession. Denis
Preston was also made an honorary member, in recognition for his
exceptional services to the IQPF, the financial planning profession
and the community. Finally, the congress also gave us the chance
to bestow the Prix de journalisme en littératie financière on Daniel
Germain, for his contribution to the financial education of Quebecers.
