Professional Accountant designation in Alberta in 2002 and completed his Juris Doctor degree from the
University of Toronto in 2007, where he received the CCH Canadian Ltd. Prize in tax policy and the or-
steinssons prize in taxation. Byron is a frequent writer and speaker on taxation matters, including for the Ca-
nadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Tax Journal and Tax Notes International, and has been a professional

Mike Dolson practices in all areas of Canadian tax law, and focuses on inbound and outbound cross-border
issues affecting private corporations. Mike received his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of
Western Ontario in 2009, and is Masters of Law (LLM) in US Taxation from New York University in 2014.
He joined Felesky Flynn LLP as an articling student in 2009, was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2010, and
became a partner of the firm in 2016. Mike is a sessional lecturer at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law,
where he teaches corporate tax. He frequently writes and presents on cross-border and other Canadian tax is-
sues for professional organizations including the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Bar Association,
the Legal Education Society of Alberta, and for non-professional publications including the Globe and Mail
and LawNow Magazine.

Siobhan Goguen has practiced in all areas of Canadian tax law with an emphasis on cross-border transac-
tions. Prior to studying law, Siobhan obtained a Certified Management Accountant designation and worked
in several industries as an accountant. Siobhan was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1998, aer clerking with
the Alberta Court of Appeal and Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta. Siobhan received a Master of Laws
(US Taxation) from Southern Methodist University in 2000. She has been a partner with Felesky Flynn LLP
since 2004 and co-managing partner since 2016. Siobhan has written and presented on numerous tax topics
for, among others, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Tax Foundation and the International
Fiscal Association, as well as being a sessional instructor of the introductory Canadian income tax law
course at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law.
