Chris' practice focuses on government relations and regulation in the energy and resource sectors through-
out Western Canada. He advises utilities, independent power producers, marketers, mine and energy project
developers and governments with respect to regulatory matters in the electricity, oil and natural gas and
mining sectors. Chris appears frequently before regulatory boards in energy, First Nation and environmental
matters in BC, Alberta and the Northwest Territories. He represents clients in judicial proceedings arising in
the regulatory context, or more generally, from the relationship between business and government heard by

Serving as Co-Chair of McMillan's Competition and Trade Group, Neil is one of Canada's pre-eminent
competition lawyers. Neil's competition law practice focuses on merger clearances under the Competition
Act and Investment Canada Act; representation of clients in cartel investigations and related class actions,
as well other competition law proceedings; and advising on distribution issues. He is respected for his
comprehensive knowledge of competition law and his expertise in dealing with economic and financial

Casey is a Partner of McMillan LLP with proven expertise in all areas of competition law, including merger
clearance, cartel defense and private antitrust litigation, gained from practicing with leading law firms
in Toronto, Washington and London. In his merger control practice, Casey has advised on more than 150
transactions before the Canadian, American, UK and EC competition agencies, including most recently
leading the Canadian clearance of the $54-billion merger of Luxottica with Essilor. In his cartel practice,
he has defended clients in more than 15 cartel investigations, including the precedent-setting 2004 Rowe
decision, which lead the Competition Bureau to obtain amendments to the Competition Act. He is a Non-
Governmental Advisor to the Mergers Working Group of the International Competition Network, and
serves in leadership positions in the both ABA and CBA competition law sections. Casey speaks Italian
