In Vancouver, Keri Bennett is now a part-
ner at Roper Greyell LLP where she leads the
firm's privacy initiatives. She advises both
public bodies and private organizations on
labour and employment matters.
Mike Weinczok joined DLA Piper
(Canada) LLP as a partner in the firm's re-
structuring practice group. He advises on
all aspects of business restructuring, distress
investing and commercial lending.
Brent Meckling moved to Clark Wil-
son LLP where he is now a partner and
Co-Chair of the firm's business litigation
department. He focuses on commercial real
estate, land use and contaminated sites.
Malcolm Macpherson is now associate
counsel at Clark Wilson LLP, where he fo-
cuses on Aboriginal business law, especially
the large scale economic development of re-
serve lands.
Brendan Piovesan moved to Farris,
Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP where he is
now associate counsel. He focuses on corpo-
rate/commercial and real estate law matters.
Athar Malik and Christine Oberti
joined Clark Wilson LLP as associates.
Malik is both a lawyer and a registered Ca-
nadian trade-mark agent; Oberti practises
general business law.
Litigators Michael Hewitt and Tricia
Milne joined Harper Grey LLP. Hewitt,
who joins as associate counsel, has a broad
practice in commercial and insurance law-
suits. Milne, who joins as an associate, pur-
sues legal remedies in the context of civil
fraud, conspiracy and conversion claims.
Sarah Nelligan moved her insolvency
and litigation practice to Miller omson
LLP, where she is now an associate.

Lewis as a real estate partner
in the firm's Vancouver office.
He practises in the areas of real
estate transactions and develop-
ment, and commercial financing
transactions — with a focus on
urban mixed-use, senior living
and recreational resort projects,
infrastructure development, and
construction financing transac-
tions. Lewis is also very active in
the community: he is a director of
both the Urban Development In-
stitute, Pacific Region, and the St.
George's School Foundation.

Restructuring and Insolvency
William Skelly joined MLT Aikins
LLP as counsel. He focuses on
restructuring and insolvency law,
commercial lending and real estate
financing. Skelly has worked with
many of Canada's largest financial
institutions and court officers in
connection with insolvency and re-
structuring. For example, he acted
in connection with the Companies'
Creditors Arrangement Act filings
of Catalyst Paper. Skelly was the
2008 International Chairman of the
Turnaround Management Associa-
tion — the first Canadian ever
to hold that role.
Edmond Lamek joined DLA Piper
(Canada) LLP as a partner in the
firm's national restructuring prac-
tice group. Lamek has wide-rang-
ing experience in all areas of Cana-
dian and cross-border insolvency
proceedings and transactions. He
advises financial institutions and
other secured and unsecured cred-
itors, DIP lenders, landlords, cor-
porate debtors, suppliers, boards
of directors, purchasers, interim
receivers, among others. Lamek
is currently acting for three major
landlords in the Sears Canada Inc.
CCAA proceedings.
