In Vancouver, Fasken Martineau DuMou-
lin LLP welcomed Brent Clark as a partner
in its banking and finance practice group.
Ryan Chalmers joined Aird & Berlis
LLP as a partner in its infrastructure prac-
tice group. He is based in both Vancouver
and Toronto.
ALBERTA CALGARY
In Calgary, Andrea Whyte moved her
practice to Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt
LLP, where she focuses on corporate fi-
nance, M&A, corporate governance and
executive compensation.
Miller omson LLP welcomed Kevin
Plowman as partner. His business law prac-
tice focuses primarily on banking.
MANITOBA WINNIPEG
In Winnipeg, Adrian Frost of TDS Law is
now the President of the Canadian Associa-
tion of Counsel to Employers, and is the first
Manitoba lawyer to hold this position.
ONTARIO TORONTO, OTTAWA
In Toronto, Hugh MacKinnon was ac-
claimed to another five-year term as Chair-
man and CEO of Bennett Jones LLP, start-
ing in April 2018.
Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP welcomed
Adam Chamberlain as a partner practising
environmental, Indigenous and energy law.
He is called to the Bars of Ontario, Nuna-
vut, Yukon and the Northwest Territories.
Lynne Lacoursière moved to Osler,
Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, where she is now
a partner and co-chair of the firm's executive
compensation practice.
Margaret Nixon rejoined Stikeman El-
liott LLP. She represents corporations and
individuals in tax disputes with the Canada
Revenue Agency and provincial tax authori-
ties, and has experience resolving disputes
involving a broad range of tax issues.
Lisa Mantello, who is known for
her innovative practice in all areas
of financial services, joined Osler,
Hoskin & Harcourt LLP as a partner.
Mantello has been involved in many
complex and dynamic transactions
of the past decade in the Canadian
structured finance market; notably,
as a fourth-year associate, she
provided derivatives advice in the
restructuring of some $32 billion
of Canadian third-party structured
asset-backed commercial paper.
Recent matters include advising
Coeur Mining in its recent acquisi-
tion of JDS Silver.

Scott Andersen moved his com-
mercial litigation practice to Lawson
Lundell LLP. He is now a partner in
both the Vancouver and Kelowna
offices of the firm. He advises
on disputes arising from the sale
of goods or services, real estate
construction and development, the
lending (and recovery) of money
on a secured or unsecured basis,
claims of professional negligence
and shareholder disputes. He ad-
vises on CCAA, bankruptcy, receiv-
ership and foreclosure proceedings.
He has appeared before all levels of
court in BC, Alberta and federally.
Trent Horne moved to Aird & Berlis
LLP where he continues his practice
in all areas of intellectual property,
with focus on patent litigation. He is
certified by the Law Society of Upper
Canada as a specialist in intellectu-
al property law (patent, trademark,
copyright) and has appeared as
counsel in many trials and appeals.
The technologies involved in his pat-
ent litigation practice span geneti-
cally modified plants, pharmaceuti-
cals, vaccines, microwave transmis-
sion devices, vehicle suspensions,
electric fireplaces, medical devices
and manufacturing equipment.
