Aikins LLP as an associate. Akst is an ex-
perienced practitioner of tax litigation

she worked at the Department of Justice
Canada's tax law services section, where
she focused on tax assessment litigation
and tax collections litigation.
Justin Krikler joined the Edmonton
Police Commission as its Legal Counsel
and Public Complaints Director. He was
previously with McLennan Ross LLP.
DLA Piper (Canada) LLP welcomed
David Choi as an associate in the firm's
corporate practice group.
MANITOBA WINNIPEG
In Winnipeg, Tom Provost moved to
MLT Aikins LLP as an associate. Provost
focuses on corporate finance, securities,
M&A, corporate/commercial law and reg-
ulatory compliance. Provost was previously
with BCF LLP.
MLT Aikins welcomed Adam Pollock
as an associate. His practice focuses on civil
litigation and labour and employment law,
including work in the areas of wrongful
and unjust dismissal, long-term disability,
human-rights violations and labour rela-
tions. He was previously with D'Arcy &
Deacon LLP.

Jennifer Suess is now Senior Vice Presi-

Secretary at RioCan REIT. She was most
recently in a senior role in Alcon Canada's
legal department.
Stephanie Kalinowski was appointed
Chair of the pension, benefits & executive
compensation practice group at Hicks Mor-
ley Hamilton Stewart Storie LLP.
In Ottawa, Leslie Milton moved to Tele-
sat Canada as senior counsel in the compa-
ny's regulatory affairs department. She was
previously a partner with Fasken Martineau
DuMoulin LLP.

In Montréal, Nadia Jubinville is now
VP Legal Affairs of the Canadian divi-
sion of Fiera Capital Corp. She was most
recently Associate General Counsel of
Telus Communications.
Sandra Abitan was named Managing
Partner of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP's
Montréal office. She is a recognized leader
in the areas of insolvency and restructuring
law both in Québec and nationwide. She
takes over the role from Shahir Guindi (see
above) who is now National Co-chair.
Sara Nadeau-Séguin joined Woods
LLP. Her practice focuses on international
arbitration and commercial litigation.
In Québec City, Alain Garneau joined
Fasken Martineau as associate counsel. Pri-
or to joining the firm, he was Vice-President
of Legal Affairs at La Coop fédérée.

Shahir Guindi was appointed Na-
tional Co-chair of Osler, Hoskin &
Harcourt LLP. Guindi is a former
member of Osler's Executive Com-
mittee and served for seven years
as Managing Partner of its Montréal
office. His appointment takes effect
alongside those of Douglas Bryce
(National Managing Partner and
Chief Executive) and Dale Ponder
(Co-chair). Guindi's corporate prac-
tice spans M&A, private equity,
high-growth companies, venture
capital, life sciences and other
technology-driven enterprises in
Canada and abroad.
