We've been busy these last few months, with not one but three
campaigns to promote your profession! First, in November, we
held the eighth Financial Planning Week. The campaign actually
stretched over three weeks, with two TV ads, a contest, publications
in social media, a survey, newsletters… It allowed us to tell millions of
Quebecers loud and clear that you are the only expert who knows
every facet of personal finance. And that consulting with you is the
first step toward financial well-being.
In January, we continued our efforts to spread the word with the
"Prenez une longueur d'avance" campaign. This one connects the
new transparency rules brought in by CRM2 with the financial
planner's transparency. This time, our promotional messages were
carried on radio, paired with a Facebook contest offering an RRSP
and a shop card, as a way to combine long-term savings with
immediate pleasure.
Finally, starting at the end of January, we had posters up in ten
universities, to promote the profession. With the "Pas mal comme
job" campaign, we are attracting the attention of the next generation
by featuring young people well-anchored in today's reality – young
people who could one day become financial planners.
Ever-evolving tools
The beginning of the year also had us busy fine-tuning the Solution
IQPF and the Projection Assumption Guidelines app. First, we added
a new LIF calculator to the Projection Assumption Guidelines app,
which is also available through the Solution IQPF. It can be used to
estimate LIF withdrawals under Québec and federal legislation. More
calculators are in the works, so stay tuned!
As for the Solution IQPF, as we go to press, we are on the verge of
launching the new web version, which is similar to the mobile version.
It will let you save annotations and favourites and then access them
from any platform.
