Osler welcomed Randal Van de Mos-
selaer as a partner in its insolvency and
restructuring practice group. He represents
debtors, secured and unsecured creditors
and other stakeholders in CCAA pro-
ceedings, receiverships and bankruptcies.

Paul Guthrie, QC, joined Norton Rose
Fulbright as "of counsel." Guthrie recently
retired from a 26-year career at Canadian
Pacific Railway, where he rose to the posi-
tion of Chief Legal Officer. He focuses
on client development throughout North
America with an eye towards meeting ser-
vice needs in the transportation sector.
ONTARIO TORONTO, OTTAWA
In Toronto, Mark Rasile, who has broad
experience in transactional debt finance
matters, joined Cassels Brock as a partner.
He was previously with Bennett Jones LLP.
Rasile recently advised Stantec Inc. on
its acquisition of MWH Global Inc., for
which the company won a Canadian Deal-
makers Award.
Charles Rich moved to Cassels Brock
from Dentons Canada LLP. He is now a
partner practising with the firm's financial
services group, where he focuses on loan
transactions and debt restructurings. For
example, he recently advised Real Matters
Inc. on its $100-million equity financing
and an increase in its borrowing facilities.
Gowling WLG welcomed corporate fi-
nance and securities lawyer Ian Mitchell
as a partner. He joined the firm from Weir-
Foulds LLP. Mitchell advises on all aspects
of securities law, including public offerings
and private placements of equity and debt
securities, takeover and issuer bids, proxy
battles and shareholder disputes.
John Risk joined WeirFoulds as a part-
ner. He focuses his practice on regulatory
affairs, policy and privacy and health law.
Most recently, he served as General Coun-
sel & Chief Privacy Officer, and as Director
of Enforcement, at the Retirement Homes
Regulatory Authority.
In Ottawa, partners Greg Tereposky,
Vince DeRose and Jennifer Radford
founded Tereposky & DeRose LLP, a bou-
tique focusing on international trade and
investment law, and procurement law. All
were previously with Borden Ladner Ger-
vais LLP (BLG). e three partners, along
with senior associate Daniel Hohnstein,
act for both government and private-sector
clients. Notable past matters include acting
as the Government of Mexico's legal coun-
sel in the NAFTA negotiations, in all of the
state-to-state trade disputes under NAFTA,
in numerous investor-state claims under
Chapter 11 of NAFTA, and in a large num-
ber of WTO disputes.
Peter Cooke joined BLG as senior coun-
sel. He practises intellectual property law.
He has over 20 years of experience in Ca-
nadian trademark and related legal matters.
Cooke was previously with Low Murchison
Radnoff LLP.

In Québec City, Kateri-Anne Grenier and
Carl Tremblay (see above) joined Fasken
Martineau DuMoulin LLP as partners.
Grenier's litigation practice encompasses
construction and professional liability mat-
ters. She also advises extensively on privacy-
related issues, including cybersecurity. She
was previously a partner at Norton Rose
Fulbright Canada LLP.

Shivani Chopra moved to Hicks

LLP, where she practises manage-
ment-side labour and employment
law. Chopra was most recently with
McInnes Cooper in Fredericton; she
joined its partnership in 2016 —
one of a very few visible-minority
immigrant women to do so. She is
a passionate advocate for diversity
in the profession. In June, she
received a Lexpert Zenith Award to
celebrate her community-building
efforts. After moving to Canada
from India in 2003, she completed
an LLM at Dalhousie University.

Carl Tremblay joined the partner-

LLP, after moving from Norton Rose
Fulbright Canada LLP where he
served as Québec Managing Part-
ner from 2008 to 2016. Tremblay
is an experienced practitioner of
corporate law, and acts on many
M&A transactions, private and
public offerings, private financings
and restructurings. His clientele
includes the research centres and
technology businesses in the prov-
incial capital. He makes the move
