Over her 25-plus years at Gowling
W LG, Tina Woodside has ser ved in a
great number of senior leadership posi-
tions. In her current role as the firm's
first female overall managing partner
for internal business, Tina is primarily
responsible for the firm's operations.
This includes management of the firm's
ser vice delivery, performance and cor-
porate culture. As a member of Gowl-
ing's executive committee, she is the
highest-ranking woman in the firm.
She has long been an advocate for the
professional advancement of women
in a traditionally male-dominated
profession. More than 15 years ago,
Tina founded the Women's Initiative
Group (W IG), which is committed to
helping women law yers at the firm de-
velop themselves professionally. Today,
W IG's mission continues through the
Gowling W LG Realizing Opportuni-
ties for Women (GROW) initiative.
Tina is an elected Fellow of the Ameri-
can Bar Association.
She is chair of the NWT Legal Aid Com-
mission and the CBA rep on the Law So-
ciety of the Northwest Territories Access
to Justice Committee. She also sat on the
steering committees developing NWT's
Domestic Violence Treatment Option
Court, and Wellness court. In 2016, in re-
sponse to extreme rates of violence against
women in the North, Caroline draed a
submission to the Legislative Assembly sug-
gesting an eligibility restriction for political
candidates convicted of domestic violence.

Aleks Zivanovic brings over 10 years of in-
surance litigation experience. She acts as a
strategic business partner, improving the ef-
ficiency of litigation. She also acts as counsel
on managing risk to limit potential litiga-
tion. She's a founding chair for the Canadian
Defence Lawyers Women's Caucus. She was
also Vice-Chair of the CDL Continuing Le-
gal Education Committee, and Chair of the
Insurance Section of the Ontario Bar Associ-
ation. Aleks is a role model for young defence
lawyers, demonstrating dedication to her
practice and her extensive volunteer work.
