In Vancouver, Martha Martindale moved
her financial services practice to Osler,
Hoskin & Harcourt LLP where she is now
a partner. She acts regularly for lenders,
debtors, administrative agents and trustees,
and provides advice on all types of commer-
cial lending matters. One of her recent files
involved the creation of Northview Apart-
ment REIT. Martindale was previously with
Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG).
David Namkung, partner at e Coun-
sel Network, was elected President of the
Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers'
(FACL) BC's chapter. Namkung previously
served as Vice-President of FACL BC. FACL
is a diverse coalition of Asian Canadian le-
gal professionals working to promote equity,
justice and opportunity for Asian Canadian
legal professionals.
Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP
welcomed Ryan McCracken and Jennifer
Myhal as associates in the firm's corporate,
commercial and securities practice group.
Malcolm Funt joined Nathanson,
Schachter & ompson LLP as an associate
practising commercial litigation.
Bull, Housser & Tupper LLP announced
its combination with Norton Rose Ful-
bright LLP, effective January 2017. e
tie-up will result in a Vancouver presence
for Norton Rose and will add around 90
lawyers with extensive BC experience and
connections. Janet Grove will remain the
Managing Partner of the Vancouver office.
ALBERTA CALGARY
In Calgary, the Right Honourable Ste-
phen Harper and his firm, Harper & As-
sociates Consulting, are now affiliated with
Dentons Canada LLP. Harper will be a con-
sultant with the firm and provide advice on
market access, managing global geopolitical
and economic risk and maximizing value in
global markets.
David Wingfield moved his practice
to Sutts, Strosberg's Toronto office
in order to grow the class action
firm's footprint into commercial
litigation. Also of interest: with only
18 lawyers on its roster and a small
client list, he will be subject to few
conflicts. He is the former executive
director of the Competition Bur-
eau's legal services and its Senior
General Counsel, where he worked
on enforcement matters. Wingfield
spent the past two years at Cassels
Brock. He is called to the Bars of
England and Wales, Ontario and
New York State.

Naomi Nind joined Gowling WLG as
a partner, where she continues her
aviation law practice after moving
from Parlee McLaws LLP. Her trans-
actional work includes importing
and exporting, licensing, selling,
buying and financing of aircraft
— commercial, business and per-
sonal — as well as drafting com-
mercial air services agreements
and airport certification. Nind also
advises on aviation-related litiga-
tion, such as regulatory compliance
and liability defence. She is called
to the Bars of Alberta as well as
the Northwest Territories.
Jack Coop relocated to Fogler,
Rubinoff, where he focuses on all
aspects of environmental litiga-
tion. Most recently, Coop was a
partner at Osler. He advises on
civil actions, defence of prosecu-
tions, class actions, administrative
hearings, and judicial reviews and
claims under the Charter. He has
also worked in the public sector
— serving as Ontario Crown Coun-
sel to the Ministry of the Attorney
General and the Ministry of En-
vironment. He is certified as a
specialist in environmental law by
the Law Society of Upper Canada.
