bridge. Mandel, who focuses on the devel-

real property, was most recently a partner
with Fogler, Rubinoff LLP.
Rajeev Dewan joined McMillan as a
partner focusing on corporate and secu-
rities law. He was previously with Weir-
Foulds LLP. Dewan, who is part of the
firm's capital markets and China practice
groups, is based in Toronto and works out
of the Hong Kong office on an "as-needed
basis." He has a strong background in glob-
al transactions, having worked extensively
with emerging markets on matters such as
structuring, sourcing and implementing
cross-border acquisitions.

Privacy and IT law practitioner Éloïse
Gratton of BLG is among "e Top 25
Most Influential 2016" as selected by vot-
ers in Canadian Lawyer magazine in the

Marc-André Blanchard, former Chair
and CEO of McCarthy Tétrault LLP and
now the Canadian Ambassador to the
United Nations, was named Avocat émérite
by the Barreau du Québec.
Partners Alexander De Zordo (com-

& employment) and counsel Jacques Lau-

by the Barreau du Québec.
Kim omassin, National Client Lead-

Avocat émérite by the Barreau du Québec.
In March, she was awarded the Medal of the
National Assembly of Québec in celebra-
tion of International Women's Day.

In Moncton, George Cooper of Cox &
Palmer was selected as a member of the In-
solvency Institute of Canada. Cooper is the
New Brunswick and Moncton office Man-
aging Partner of the firm.
In St. John's, Alexander (Sandy) Mac-
Donald, QC, was inducted as a fellow of
the Canadian College of Construction
Lawyers. MacDonald is the Managing Part-
ner of Cox & Palmer's St. John's office.

corporate governance and security
matters. She also has expertise
in drafting of employment agree-

golden parachutes and non-
competition agreements. In 2015,
she was named one of the one of
eight most prominent women in
the legal profession in Québec by

Hugh Wright was appointed Man-
aging Partner and CEO of McInnes
Cooper for a three-year term. A lead-
er in Canada's retirement industry,
he replaces outgoing CEO Ray Adling-
ton, who returns to his tax law prac-
tice. Wright led the firm's pensions
and benefits practice group for many
years. He advises plan sponsors,
administrators and employee groups
in all spheres of pensions and bene-
fits law, including litigation. Wright is
Chair of the Association of Canadian
Pension Management as well
as a director of the Canadian
Bar Insurance Association.
