Brooke MacKenzie was most recently

Corp. Most recently, he was GC at the

Tanya Walker, a commercial litigator
with her own firm, was elected Bencher of
the Law Society of Upper Canada. She is
the first black woman to hold the role.
Bryan McLeese moved his litigation
practice to Chernos Flaherty Svonkin LLP
where he is now counsel. Prior to joining
the firm, he was a partner at Davies Ward
Phillips & Vineberg LLP.

Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP wel-
comed Nora Kharouba as an associate in
its construction and commercial litigation
practice. She was previously with Miller

Heather Marshall joined Fogler, Ru-
binoff LLP as an associate practising wills
and estates law. She was previously with
Kronis, Rotsztain, Mangles, Cappel LLP.
Jonathan Born is now an associate with
Wildeboer Dellelce LLP aer making the
move from WeirFoulds LLP. He focuses
his practice on real estate law.
BLG welcomed Pierre Gemson as an
associate practising commercial litigation.
In Ottawa, former premier of Prince
Edward Island Robert Ghiz is now a se-
nior business advisor at Gowling WLG. He
holds nearly 20 years of experience in gov-
ernment affairs and public policy.
Garett Schromm and Heather Dawe
are now associates of BLG. Schromm prac-
tises environmental law. Dawe is a corpo-
rate-commercial lawyer.
Alexander Sarabura is now a competi-
tion law officer at the Competition Bureau
aer leaving Stikeman Elliott LLP.

In Montréal, Miller omson welcomed
Nathalie Durocher as a partner in its in-
surance litigation practice group. She was
previously with Norton Rose Fulbright.
Her insurance law practice covers, casualty
and property, special risks, regulatory and
licensing, and liability.
Josée Letourneau was appointed to the
position of Senior Vice-President Legal Af-
fairs at La Coop fédérée and is now a mem-
ber of its senior management committee.
She has been with the organization for 18
years, and prior to that spent seven years in
private practice. La Coop fédérée is the larg-
est agri-food enterprise in Q uébec.
Lily Germain joined Gascon & Associ-
ates L.L.P. as partner, aer moving from
Langlois Lawyers LLP. She focuses on
mergers & acquisitions, business law and
venture-capital financing. She advises com-
panies in various areas, such as IT, mining
and energy, and manufacturing.
Stuart Kruger joined McMillan LLP
as a partner where he advises clients in the
pharmaceutical and biotechnology indus-
tries on licensing, acquisitions, regulatory
matters, ethics and compliance, audits and
investigations, commercial law and intellec-
tual property. Most recently, he was General
Counsel of Novartis Pharmaceuticals.

Andrew Elbaz made the move to
Minden Gross where he is now
chair of the newly formed securities
law and capital markets group.
Elbaz was previously with Dentons
Canada, where he was a partner.
He focuses on IPOs, public offer-
ings, private placements, M&A and
joint ventures. He has advised in
various industries including oil and
gas, life sciences and mining. Elbaz
has an international practice, with
clients in the US, Europe, Asia,
Africa and the Middle East. He has
three children and is known for
his gourmet cooking.

Olga Farman was named Québec
managing partner at Norton Rose
Fulbright Canada, replacing Carl
Tremblay in the role. She has been
with the firm for three years, and
practises corporate law with a
focus on life sciences and health
law. Her recent transactional work
includes setting up research con-
sortiums and advising on biobanks,
and multi-centre clinical trials. She
has a particular interest in the
use of technology in health care.
Farman serves on several boards
including YWCA Québec and is
an avid supporter of the arts.
