6 lacible | Mai 2015 C H A I R ' S M E S S A G E For a few years now, we have been talking about behavioural finance, a topic that is very close to my heart. Financial planning is not just numbers: it is also the whole human side of the equation. So it is my great pleasure to announce that with this issue of La Cible, we will finally delve into this new field of economic expertise! In 2015, the three feature articles in your magazine will introduce you to the theory of behavioural finance. Reading them will help you understand how your clients make their financial decisions. Your magazine also welcomes two new writers this year: Robert Laniel will take over for the Succession column and Jean-Nagual Taillefer will take care of the Assurance column. This means that Caroline Marion and Denis Preston will no longer write for La Cible. I'm sure you will want to join me in extending our appreciation for all these years of collaboration and excellent work! 2015 Congress in Rimouski Here again, we're on to something new. This year we are offering you a first: a hybrid format. You'll be able to attend the congress in person or by webcast. We expect the congress to be sold out, with just 200 on-site participants. This formula will allow us to get off the beaten track and go meet our affiliates in the regions, while still offering webcasting for people who prefer online training. The 2015 edition will be held in Rimouski next June 11 and 12. The program will include a single two-day IPFP professional development activity for all financial planners. What's not changing: the Thursday night banquet and performance, the annual general meeting on Friday morning, and the president's benefit jog for Jeunes Entreprises du Québec on Thursday morning. But this year I did make a special request: we're adding a zumba course! So it's a date! And don't forget to sign up fast if you want to attend in person! GETTING THE MESSAGE OUT
