turing, negotiation and documentation of natural resource projects and related financings and in domestic
and cross-border mergers and acquisitions in the oil, gas, water and power sectors. He previously practiced at
a leading English law firm in its London and Tokyo offices and has experience in Europe, the Middle East,
Southeast Asia and the Far East. Bakshi has experience in regulated electricity markets and has acted for num-
erous clients in the development, operation and acquisition of independent power projects, including those
involving renewable energy sources. He has acted for sponsors, developers, oakers and service providers in a
range of natural resource projects. In the oil and gas sector, he has led transactions involving on- and offshore
petroleum development and has many years of experience in each link in the LNG value chain, having acted
for developers of liquefaction facilities, LNG buyers and sellers and in connection with regasification terminal
capacity rights.

Ian Mondrow leads Gowling WLG's energy regulation and policy practice in the Toronto office. He ad-
vises on a variety of matters in the natural gas and electricity sectors, including energy policy, regulatory
policy and process, rates and tariff matters, facilities applications and compliance and licensing issues.
Mondrow has represented electricity generators, transmitters and distributors, competitive energy retail-
ers and energy consumers before the Ontario Energy Board, the National Energy Board, and in other
Canadian regulatory forums. Mondrow is a member of the Council for Clean & Reliable Electricity, a
federally incorporated non-profit organization that was formed to provide a platform for open public dia-
logue and a solutions-oriented approach to the challenges of the energy sector. Prior to joining Gowling
WLG, Mondrow practiced at a prominent national firm, served as special advisor to the Chair of the On-
tario Energy Board, and was Vice-President; Government & Regulatory Affairs with a major integrated
energy retail and solutions company.
