Users can enjoy eight hours of fog-free vision in heat, humidity, cold and changing temperatures, accord- ing to Nanofi lm, the manufacturer. It is safe and effective on all lenses, protective masks and eyewear. Clarity Defog It helps boost safety eyewear compli- ance because one of the biggest complaints that reduces eyewear compliance is fogging, says Nano- fi lm. The convenient, dry, reusable cloths provide quick, even application and come in two options: resealable foil packaging (20 uses per cloth) or tear- and-go foil packaging (10 uses per cloth). The liquid solution delivers fog-free performance with just a few drops and the silicone-free formulation goes on clear without any haze. www.nanofi lmusa.com HIGH-TECH PLASTIC Covestro has developed extremely impact-resis- tant polycarbonate lenses made of Makro- lon 3207 that are lightweight and as transparent as glass. Lenses made of the Covestro plastic are industrial bullet-resistant and passed tests with 45-gram solid steel bullets fi red at the lenses at speeds of 150 until 400 feet per second. Such extreme test conditions are necessary, says the manufacturer, in order to cover all of the impacts that could possibly occur during routine work and lead to eye injuries: falling or fl ying objects, sparks, metal slivers, wood chips, nails or contact with harmful substances. MCR Safety is using the new lens material in its glasses, including its new USS Defense safety glasses. According to MCR Safety, these goggles are tough, offer premium optical qual- ity and impact resistance and UV protection. Another advantage of Makrolon 3207 is the high design free- dom, says Covestro. This allows for thinner lenses and greater comfort with lower production costs. www.covestro.com and www.mcrsafety.com FOG PROTECTION GOGGLE Encon has announced a new chemical splash protective goggle fea- turing advanced fog resistance (AFR). The 750AFR model is designed for maxi- mum anti-fog protection for environments with high heat, humidity and rapid temperature changes. AFR consists of one of the most advanced premium anti-fog coatings available in the marketplace com- bined with redesigned indirect ventilation channels for superior airfl ow, says Encon. The goggle protects against chemical splash, dust and fl ying particles and debris and has a snug yet comfortable fi t. It boasts an oversized wide-view vision and fi ts over most pre- scription glasses. The spring design at the bottom of the frame acts as a comfort cushion, as well as pro- viding fi t fl exibility. The comfortable, adjustable, wide elastic headband resists hair pulling and is also fl ame resistant. Outrigger headband attachment angles outward for better hard hat compatibility. The 750AFR meets CSA Z94.3-2007. www.enconsafety.com GAS DETECTION GAS MONITOR AND WORKER TRACKER Honeywell has announced ConneXt LoneWorker, a cloud-based, mobile, wireless gas monitoring solution for tracking the safety and location of workers in remote areas. Safety managers can locate workers on demand, check near real-time read- ings of gas monitors, receive automatic alerts of gas alarms and man-down incidents, perform site check-in/check- out, send two-way text messages and track vehicle maintenance, fuel usage and driving habits. The solu- tion is ideal for workers in oil and gas, construction, utilities and other hazardous industries. The four ele- ments of the ConneXt1 LoneWorker package include: ConneX1 (a single-gas portable monitor that func- tions on its own Wi-Fi network); Trakopolis (a confi gurable, cloud-based asset management pro- gram); IntelliDoX (a docking and data management station); and a communication device that enables connectivity and visibility of the ConneX1 detector and vehicle to the Trakopolis platform. www.honeywell.com THE QUAD The QCC Quad Channel Controller by Critical Envi- ronment Technologies Canada is perfect for small- to medium-sized gas detection applications. The QCC has four gas channel confi gurations and offers exceptional functionality with digital or analog inputs, an extensive menu system, logic control, a door-mounted audible alarm, LCD display and three single pole double throw (SPDT) relays. Optional features include a top mounted strobe, manual shutoff switch and two analog outputs for variable frequency drive control. The controller is ideal for institutional, municipal and light industrial environments where gas hazards are present. The controller can be confi gured to com- municate with up to four analog or digital gas detectors with toxic, combustible, refrigerant or vola- tile organic compound sensors to meet specifi c gas detection application requirements. The QCC comes in a water- and dust-tight enclosure with a copper- coated interior to reduce radio frequency interference and it conforms to CSA standards. www.critical-environment.com 2 MONTHS, 1 CHARGE The Multi Gas Clip gas detector from Gas Clip Technologies can last two months on one charge, even without ever being turned off. If the unit is shut down nightly, the battery can last up to four months. It measures lower explosive limit, hydrogen sulphide, carbon monoxide and oxygen levels. The secret of the extended battery life is that it uses low-power photo-metric technology for the detection of the combustible gases. Instead of draining the battery with pellistor technology, the Multi Gas Clip uses an IR source. The Multi Gas Clip also can go six months without being calibrated. The gas detector will work in inert environments, no need for oxygen. Features include simple, one button operation; data logging; programmable user ID; full function self-test upon activation; and visual, vibrat- ing and audible alarms. www.gascliptech.com OHS PRODUCTS PERFORMANCE FR OUTERWEAR DragonWear's new Elements Flak Jacket is performance outerwear with FR protection.
