Founding partner. Widely acknowledged as one of Canada's leading litigators, Alan
Lenczner has applied his advocacy skills to yield precedent-setting decisions in nearly
every area of civil litigation. Drawing on four decades of experience in complex litiga-
tion matters, he appears regularly before courts at all levels across the country, as well as
administrative tribunals. He has also appeared as counsel before the High Court and the
Court of Appeal in the UK and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. A
frequent lecturer on a broad range of legal subjects, Lenczner has helped to guide a genera-
tion of lawyers.
Jonathan Lisus was called to the Ontario Bar in 1992. His practice focuses on complex
commercial disputes. He has a broad trial and appellate practice across the country and
regularly appears in the Supreme Court of Canada. He is a Fellow of the American Col-
lege of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is an appointed
member at large of the Chief Justice of Ontario's Advisory Committee on Professional-
ism. He regularly appears as Special Counsel to the Canadian Civil Liberties Associa-
tion in all levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada. He is recognized by

rious product liability claims in Canada with cross-border issues, and working closely
with in-house and external lawyers from the US and other countries. One of a growing
but small group of lawyers that has led the defense of class-action common issues trials
in Canada. Recognized internationally as a leader in product liability (and life sciences)
defense: product liability "lawyer of the year" awards from Benchmark Canada (2013,
2014, 2015), LMG Life Sciences (2014, Canada) and Best Lawyers (2015, Toronto). Cur-
rently lead counsel in Ontario and managing litigation nationally for some of the world's
largest manufacturers of prescription and over-the-counter medicines, medical devices,
