They resist freezing by maintaining an internal water temperature above 10 C. Pipe protection and water temperature is maintained using a thermostat controlled self-limit- ing heating cable and a closed-cell foam insulation to maximize heat retention. The showers include ABS plastic covers that resist chemical and environmental deterioration. They are available in high-visibility yellow, green or orange and are UV-inhibited. A high-limit thermo- stat safeguards against scalding water. The showers feature remote and local alarm capability with either horn, bell, tone and fl ashing light selection. Encon offers a customized model selection, incorporating a company's local, corporate safety, electrical, mechan- ical and maintenance requirements. Therma-Flow is CSA approved with FM and UL components. www.enconsafety.com ON-SITE WASTE CART Bradley's on-site waste cart provides transportation and waste collection for its model S19-921 portable gravity-fed eyewash. The waste cart is high density and is made with highly visible yellow polyethylene. It has a moulded handle for ease of transportation. The cart features a tapered sump with 0.5-inch petcock for easy drainage and has a 56-gallon capacity. The waste cart will easily lock in place with two rigid casters in the front and two swivel casters with "total lock" brakes in the back. The cart is very easy to park from right or left side approach, says the manufac- turer. With dual drain holes, alternate positioning of the on-site unit is possible. It comes equipped with two clearly marked eyewash signs. The cart measures 33 inches in height. www.bradleycorp.com DECONTAMINATION BOOTH Hemco's emergency shower decontamination booth fea- tures one piece seamless fi breglass construction, glass smooth white surfaces and covered corners for ease of cleanup. The shower is avail- able with translucent frosted strip curtains which contain contaminated water splash and provide easy access into the booth. Both sides of the booth are equipped with stain- less steel grab bars to support victim and rescue personnel during decontamination. A self-draining basin on a raised fi breglass deck provides a drainage outlet on either the bottom or rear of the unit. For industrial applications, there is a pull rod overhead to activate the drench shower as well as rear wall mounted eye and face wash applications. For laboratory applica- tions, fi nished side panels are available. www.hemcocorp.com FALL PROTECTION FALL CLEARANCE APP When working at height, calculating fall clearance and swing fall is critical to a worker's safety. Honeywell has launched the new Miller Fall Clearance App, for Apple or Android mobile devices. The app gives workers at height the on-site ability to quickly calculate the required fall clearance for shock absorbing lanyards and self-retracting lifelines (SRLs), including swing fall. The user can easily toggle back and forth from lanyard to SRL and has the ability to select from dif- ferent variables, which represent the required fall clearance for both devices. The app is designed to demonstrate real-time fall clearance results with animation once each variable is selected. Once calculated, the user can re-calculate or email the results. The app includes multilingual support in English, Spanish and French with metric conversion and is optimized for use on smartphones and tablets. It is available on Google Play or on iTunes downloads. www.millerfallprotection.com LIGHTWEIGHT LIFELINE Reliance Fall Protection's StopLite personal fall arrest device offers the safety and reliability of a standard self-retracting life- line (SRL) in a convenient, compact and durable package. The device can be attached quickly and easily to the back of a har- ness using a SRL connector. The use of the connector allows for the attachment of up to two lifelines to a full body harness. The StopLite may also be used as a traditional SRL when attached to an appropriate overhead anchorage point. The personal fall arrest device has an external shock absorber, Dyneema webbing and a choice of a pelican or rebar hook. The capacity of the product is 310 pounds. The lifeline is 7 inches in length and 4.125 inches long, with durable, lightweight plastic housing. The StopLite complies with applicable OSHA standards and ANSI Z359.1-2007. www.relsafe.com OHS PRODUCTS HOLLYWOOD GOGGLES Allegro has released two new safety goggles. The Action Goggles (pictured at top) provide the ultimate comfort and optical vision during welding applications, grinding, cutting, braz- ing, machining and even in lab environments. The goggles contain interior pads as well as an adjustable strap. The goggles are so small that they can easily be worn under a welding shield for added protec- tion. A number of options are available, such as clear, smoke, IR3 and IR5 and mirror lens options. For the ultra hip, Allegro Hollywood Goggles will provide style without compromising comfort. The thick foam of the goggle surrounds the eye, mini- mizing penetration. The removable temples give way to a single strap for a more accurate and tighter fi t. Allegro Diopers are also available for the Hollywood goggles. These clear magnifying inserts will easily snap into place after popping off the original lens. www.allegrosafety.com FLUIDSAFE Alerton International has intro- duced FluidSafe, a hydraulic fl uid additive that helps prevent high pressure fl uid injection injuries. FluidSafe aids in the detection and surgical removal of hydraulic fl uid in the event of an accidental fl uid injection under the skin. When viewed under high-intensity blue light, the bright fl uorescent green glow of FluidSafe remains visible within the wound zone for 24 hours after the injury and will quickly and accurately detect high-pressure fl uid injection injuries. This helps pre- vent unnecessary surgery, needless claim costs and trauma to the victim. FluidSafe also helps detect leaks in hoses, fi ttings and seals. It is non-hazardous and has no adverse effect on the physical proper- ties of the fl uid. This product is ideal wherever fl uid power systems are located, including mining, oil and gas, forestry, construction and manufacturing. www.alertoninternational.com Sometimes...It's better when the fish don't bite!
