John Turner is the leader of Fasken Martineau's Global Mining Group. One of Canada's

the world." He has been involved in many of the leading M&A and corporate fi nance
transactions in the resources sector in recent years, including First Quantum's success-
ful C$5.1-billion unsolicited acquisition of Inmet, Coeur Mining's superior proposal
to acquire Orko Silver, Oryx Petroleum's C$250-million IPO, AuRico Gold's C$1.5-
billion acquisition of Northgate, Addax Petroleum's C$9-billion sale to Sinopec, and
IAMGOLD's C$600-million acquisition of Trelawney. His clients include issuers or
