Michael McIntosh is a senior partner who practices in the areas of banking, acquisi-
tion fi nance, structured fi nance and project fi nance at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP.
Regularly advises on cross-border fi nancings. Recent transactions include fi nancings
of oil sands projects, conventional oil and gas reserves, refi neries, petrochemical plants,
pipelines, mining assets and power-generating assets. Lead counsel to the lenders for
the fi nancing of Western Oil Sands' participation in the Athabasca Oil Sands Project
with Shell Canada/Chevron Canada and lead Canadian counsel to the lenders for the
fi nancing of the Vantage Pipeline. In addition, lead counsel on the credit facilities of
Suncor Energy, TransCanada PipeLines, Husky Energy, Baytex Energy, Athabasca Oil
and Crew Energy and co-lead counsel on TransCanada's Keystone Project credit facility.
Recently acted as lead counsel on the fi nancing of the North West Redwater refi nery and
the Baytex acquisition of Aurora Oil & Gas. Called to the Alberta Bar in 1986 and the
