He served as General Counsel to Canadian Franchise Association from 2000 to 2007 and, as a member of the Ontario Franchise Sector Working Team, was instrumental in the creation of Ontario's franchise legislation. Levitt is currently a member of the Inter- national Committee of the International Franchise Association. He has over 40 reported decisions and is regularly retained to defend franchisors in class actions. Shaw is a frequent author for industry publications and regularly speaks at international franchise law seminars.
