It exceeds the requirements of the NFPA 2013 standard. It is available in certifi ed gas association (CGA) or snap-change cylinder connection. Cylinder pressures range from 2.2, 4.5, to 5.5. The mask boasts a dual redundant pressure reducer and an "external" head up display (HUD) to provide critical air status to other team members. Comfort is enhanced by a new shoulder strap design, better weight management and improved wire and hose management, says Scott Safety. Fireground communications are facilitated through the introduction of the AV-3000 high temperature face piece as well as EPIC 3 communications and an optimally positioned "buddy" light. The Air-Pak X3 requires minimal training, increases operational effi ciencies and reduces training costs, according to the manufacturer. www.scottsafety.com EASY-OFF HALF MASK Draeger introduces the X-plore 3000 half mask. It allows for the removal of the mask without having to take off the hard hat or face shield fi rst. By simply opening the clips, the respirator slides right down the face, yet still sits close to the body. The fl exible nose sealing strip ensures leak-free sealing and an optimal fi t with safety goggles. The compact, low profi le design, with a convenient swept-back position of the fi lters, guarantees a wide fi eld of vision free from obstruction and ensures an optimal fi t. The bayonet connection features a unique two-point connector that attaches both fi lters to the mask. The half mask boasts hypoallergenic properties with excellent chemical resistance. It can be used in a variety of industries, including metal processing, automotive, shipbuilding, painting, chemicals, maintenance, utilities or waste disposal. www.draeger.com RESPIRATOR COMBO Honeywell Safety Products has announced the new and improved North 7800 series combination continuous fl ow supplied air and air purifying respirator in conjunction with the 9000 series airline hoses and range of quick-connect couplers. The innovation will allow workers to use different North 7800 products for different applications, while using the same supply hoses and couplers. The 7800 series respirator easily converts into an air-purifying respirator once it is disconnected from the air supply. It can be used for entry, exit and intermittent use when moving from one air source to another. The respirator provides back up fi lters and cartridges for emergency escape when the user is unable to connect to supplied air. It protects against hazardous gases, vapours and particles. www.honeywellsafety.com HAND PROTECTION MAXIMUM SAFETY Protective Industrial Products, as licensee of both Dyneema and DuPont, uses advanced fi bres for gloves and sleeves to engineer proprietary yarn blends and coatings. The glove features a high visibility lime green liner and extended wrist feature that adds yet another element of comfort and safety, says the manufacturer. The ergonomic design is contoured to hand shape. Impact-protective thermoplastic rubber pads are located on the knuckles, fi ngers and back of hand. The MicroSurface nitrile-coated padded palm is perfect for an enhanced wet and dry grip. The Velcro closure for easy on and off secure fi t is useful when working in almost any industry including pet- rochemical, construction, auto repair, demo, mining and fabrication. The 15-gauge gloves feature lint-free, continuous fi lament yarn that is stronger than steel on an equal-weight basis, says the manufacturer. The gloves can be used in indus- tries such as automotive and aerospace as well as metal fabrication and metal sampling. The polyurethane-coated style offers a high co-effi cient of friction that does not shed. For this specifi c reason the gloves are ideal when working with circuit boards where contamination is a concern. The high-strength silica-infused fi bre is incorporated in such a way that it allows for complete hand comfort and extended glove life, says Superior Glove. The palms of the gloves are PU-coated and Vend packed.
